Intern Appreciation Day 2016
August 3rd marks Futures and Options 2nd annual
Intern Appreciation Day!
On this day, our Internship Program partners and supervisors join us in showing appreciation for the young people they are working with. This summer, Futures and Options 278 summer interns are busy contributing to teams at 170 businesses, nonprofits and government agencies across New York City! Collectively, they will work over 45,000 hours in six weeks time, handling tasks such as answering phones, copying, creating inventories, data entry, IT assistance, internet research, taking notes at meetings, preparing materials for meetings, assisting with events and projects, and more.
Interns clearly benefit from their relationships with their supervisors and colleagues as well as their experiences on the job. They learn skills that are essential to their success in future careers, such as teamwork, accountability and time management, and begin to build their professional networks.
On Internship Appreciation Day, we invite our interns' colleagues and supervisors to share how they believe they benefit as well from their interns work and contributions.
