Dear Friends,
In 2008, I was starting my senior year of high school and I applied to the Futures and Options Internship Program. Futures and Options set me up with an interview at Mansueto Ventures, the publisher for Inc. Magazine. I was hired, and my internship there was my first real professional experience and introduced me to the world of marketing.
In addition to gaining valuable skills and knowledge, I learned that it's up to me to take advantage of the opportunities available to me. While Futures and Options helped me get my foot in the door at Mansueto, it was on me to show up every day and prove that I could do the work. It was also up to me to leverage the network Futures and Options helped me build. After graduating from Smith College, I reached out to my contacts at Mansueto, which helped me secure a position there as a marketing coordinator. My Futures and Options' internship gave me a network, a career and a future.
