By partnering with Futures and Options your company has the opportunity to open doors to New York City's youth. Together we can support out city's talented young people as they realize their potential and develop the confidence to pursue their unique career goals.
Futures and Options partners with companies in New York City to design and facilitate customized internship and career-readiness programs for diverse high school students.
Futures and Options develops these programs according to our partner company's unique goals, which may include:
- Creating a pipeline of diverse talent
- Supporting company-wide initiatives for diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Opportunity for junior staff to gain management experience
- Investment in NYC's next generation of employees
Programs include the High School Internship Program, the Externship Experience, Volunteer Programming, and more.
High School Internship Program
The Internship Program provides paid, mentored internships and career readiness workshops to high school juniors and seniors. Students acquire hands-on experience, gain entry to small businesses, nonprofits, government agencies and multinational corporations and earn needed money.
Our high-touch model includes:
Recruitment and Screening – Futures and Options recruits and screens candidates for the program and schedules final round interviews with partners
Internship Opportunities – Futures and Options assists partners in developing age- and skill-appropriate job descriptions for high school interns
Career Development and Exploration – Futures and Options provides soft skill training and career exploration activities to interns, and collaborates with partners to develop company- and industry-specific trainings
Supervisor Support – Futures and Options is on call for all supervisors to advise on performance issues and offers in-person site visits to support supervisors and mentors
Evaluation – Futures and Options provides program evaluation and analysis

The Externship Experience:
The Futures and Options Externship Experience activates our students' drive to prepare for the world of work and offers them access to learning opportunities that will kick-start their career journeys. At the same time, participating firms have a chance to further their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to make a meaningful investment in New York City's future workforce.
What you can expect:
In collaboration with Futures and Options, employers will design a series of workshops and events that expose about 15 participating students to their industries and firms, allow them to practice professional and interpersonal skills, and offer them opportunities to network with a range of employees.
