This workshop will focus on sexual dysfunction in both males and females, emphasizing etiology, symptomatology, and faulty sexual performance. I will delineate male syndromes, emphasizing erectile dysfunction, as well as citing premature and delayed ejaculation, then move into discussion of causality. In the same vein, I will describe anorgasmia and touch on pain syndromes in the female with concommitant theories of causality. Finally, I will touch on the most difficult presenting problem which we, as sex therapists, see, namely disorders of sexual desire. She may want sex once a week; he may want it once a month. Again, factors which influence this conundrum will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

1) Explore the role of sex therapy as both a distinct and integrative treatment modality from historical and applied perspectives
2) Describe the etiology of sexual dysfunction in men from both organic and psychogenic origins
3) Describe the etiology of sexual dysfunction in women from both organic and psychogenic origins

*This workshop is part of a 2-part series. While we encourage you to attend both workshops, each can be attended on their own.
